On October 14, 2026, Medline announced it is removing all Medline Brand beds from the market. This includes homecare, bariatric and long-term-care beds, along with their hand-control pendants, accessories and replacement parts.
Why
- Electrical parts in the bed can overheat and cause a fire.
- Bed accessories, including side rails, can cause entrapment.
What to do now
- Unplug the bed and any battery packs.
- Do not use the electric functions. You may keep using the bed in manual mode until it is replaced.
- Use the electric functions only in an emergency, such as choking or CPR. Never use an extension cord, and keep the pendant and power cords routed and secured.
- Do not use any bed accessories, including side rails.
What happens next
- If you have not received a safety label for your bed by November 30, 2026, call Medline at 800-950-0128.
Report a problem
Report any injury or problem with your bed to Medline at 1-800-950-0128 or [email protected], or to the FDA at www.fda.gov/medwatch/report.
